Privacy Policy

Account information. Name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), and authentication tokens from social sign-in providers such as Google.

Profile & resume data. Resume files, parsed work history, education, skills, contact details, certifications, and job-search preferences you provide.

Application data. Jobs you browse, save, or apply to; cover letters and tailored resumes generated for you; status and outcome of applications you track.

Email integrations. If you connect Gmail (OAuth) or a custom IMAP/SMTP mailbox, we store encrypted credentials or refresh tokens and the minimum metadata needed to surface recruiter replies (sender, subject, date, snippet) — never your full mailbox contents beyond what is necessary for application tracking.

Usage data. IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps, collected via cookies and similar technologies.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Service, including resume tailoring and job matching.
• Generate AI-personalized application materials on your behalf.
• Authenticate you and protect against unauthorized access.
• Communicate with you about your account, security, and product updates.
• Improve our AI models, features, and infrastructure (only on aggregated or de-identified data).
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data:

• With service providers (cloud hosting, LLM providers, email delivery) bound by confidentiality.
• With employers / job boards only when you explicitly submit an application.
• If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HireIgnitor or others.
• In connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to you.

The Service integrates with third parties including Google (Gmail OAuth), email providers via IMAP/SMTP, AI model providers, and job board APIs. Your use of those integrations is also subject to the respective third party's terms and privacy policy.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Resume and application data are retained until you delete them. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us; we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive credentials (Fernet AES-128 + HMAC-SHA256), bcrypt-hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You may exercise these rights from your account Settings page or by contacting us at the address below.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and analyze aggregate usage. You may disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may not function correctly without them.

The Service is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

The Service is operated from the United States. If you are accessing it from outside the U.S., you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the U.S.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
